      Wagamama Calories Overview (All Categories)

Here’s how each part of the menu compares. The ranges come from every dish Wagamama currently lists in that category.

The pattern: ramen is the lowest-calorie main category on average and curries are the highest. Every curry on the menu comes in at 988 kcal or more, because each one is served with a full portion of rice plus a rich sauce, and the katsu versions are also breaded and fried.

      • 32 main dishes analysed, plus 23 sides, 5 lunch wraps and boxes, 12 desserts, 15 kids’ mains and 26 drinks.
      • Average main: 907 kcal and 36.1g protein. Median main: 896 kcal.
      • 10 of 32 mains contain 1,000 kcal or more, which is half a day’s 2,000 kcal reference in a single dish.
      • Only 5 mains come in under 700 kcal, and 21 of 31 mains with published figures have 30g of protein or more.
      • Best protein for the calories: Grilled Chicken Ramen, with 7.6g of protein per 100 kcal.
      • Salt: 6 mains contain 6g of salt or more, which is the UK’s maximum recommended daily amount for adults. The Signature Seafood Ramen has 10.4g.
      • Biggest surprise: the vegan Yasai Katsu Curry (1,223 kcal) has more calories than the Chicken Katsu Curry (988 kcal), and less than half the protein.

      Wagamama Ramen Calories

Ramen is where most of Wagamama’s lower-calorie mains are. The two chicken ramens are the lightest mains on the whole menu and among the best for protein. Ramen broth is salty, though: every bowl has at least 4.9g of salt. See every bowl in detail on our Wagamama ramen menu page.

Wagamama Donburi & Rice Bowl Calories

Donburi rice bowls average about 857 kcal. The two new rice bowls from the summer 2026 menu are the lightest options. The grilled duck donburi is the only one over 1,000 kcal, but it also has the most protein (53.9g). More detail is on our Wagamama donburi menu page.

Takeaway: the Grilled Chicken Ramen (34.8g protein, 456 kcal) and Chilli Chicken Ramen (37.3g, 541 kcal) give the most protein for their calories on the whole menu. As a side, edamame (24g protein, 280 kcal) is the best option for protein. The lowest-protein mains are the vegan Yasai Yaki Soba with rice noodles (16.9g) and the yasai katsu curries (21.5–22.5g).

Wagamama Sides, Gyoza & Bao Calories

Sides range from under 200 kcal to as much as a small main. Watch the fried chicken and bao buns in particular: the hot honey fried chicken (786–842 kcal) has as many calories as a full teppanyaki main. Browse them all on our sides, gyoza and bao page.

      Wagamama Salt Content

Calories aren’t the only number worth checking. UK guidance says adults should have no more than 6g of salt a day, and several Wagamama mains reach that in a single dish:

      DishSaltCalories
      Signature Seafood Ramen10.4g974 kcal
      Prawn Firecracker6.7g1,139 kcal
      Tantanmen Beef Brisket Ramen6.6g713 kcal
      Gochujang Pork Belly Ramen6.4g949 kcal
      Pulled Shiitake Donburi6.2g927 kcal
      Grilled Duck Donburi6g1,129 kcal

The lower-calorie ramens aren’t low in salt either. The Grilled Chicken Ramen has 4.9g and the Chilli Chicken Ramen 5.7g, mostly from the broth. If you’re watching salt, leaving some of the broth will help.

      Vegan & Vegetarian Calories

Plant-based doesn’t automatically mean lower in calories at Wagamama. Three of the four highest-calorie mains are vegan curries. These are the vegan mains, from lowest to highest calories. Find more on our Wagamama vegan menu and vegetarian options pages.

The best vegan choice for protein is the Kare Burosu Ramen (30g protein, 706 kcal). The vegan sides with the most protein are the two edamame dishes, with about 24g each.

      Wagamama Gluten-Free Menu Calories

Wagamama publishes a separate gluten-free menu. Most gluten-free versions have exactly the same calories as the standard dishes, but three ramens and one side are different:

Dishes with the same calories on both menus include the raisukaree and firecracker curries, the chicken, beef and duck donburi, both new rice bowls, edamame, wok-fried greens, spicy smashed cucumber, the corn ribs, and the miso caramel ice cream, coconut reika and chocolate brownie desserts. Gluten-free dishes are prepared without gluten-containing ingredients, but always tell your server about coeliac disease or any allergy, and see our gluten-free menu guide and allergen guide.

      Wagamama Drinks Calories

Drinks can add as many calories as a side. A regular Coke (139 kcal, 35g sugar) or a fresh juice (120–139 kcal) adds almost as much as wok-fried greens. The zero-sugar drinks, water, green tea and espresso are all under 5 kcal. Wagamama doesn’t publish nutrition figures for its alcoholic drinks (cocktails, wine, beer and sake), so they’re not listed. Is Wagamama Healthy?

It depends on what you order. That’s why this guide sticks to published figures rather than labelling dishes “healthy”. Wagamama has broth-based chicken ramens under 550 kcal with more than 34g of protein. It also has ten mains over 1,000 kcal, including some vegan curries, and six mains with 6g of salt or more. If you have a medical or dietary condition, get advice from a qualified professional.

      How These Figures Are Checked

Every figure here was taken from the per-serving nutrition information on Wagamama’s official UK website (wagamama.com/menu) on 26 September 2026. Protein-per-100-kcal figures and meal totals are our own calculations from those numbers. Percentages are worked out against the 2,000 kcal daily reference that Wagamama prints on its menu, and the salt reference is the UK’s 6g daily maximum for adults. Large food businesses in England have been required to show calories on their menus since April 2022. Northern Ireland, airport and delivery menus can differ. Read our full nutrition methodology, and if you find a figure that’s changed, please tell us through our corrections page. For allergens, always use Wagamama’s official allergen information and our allergen guide, and talk to the restaurant team.
